ADVANCED BEEF PRODUCTION MEDICINE ROTATION

Our Advanced Beef Production Medicine (ABPM) rotation is a competitive, non-clinical externship opportunity available to 4th year veterinary students. This rotation is ideal for those with a keen interest in cow-calf and/or feedlot production medicine & consulting. Ten successful applicants will be given the unique opportunity to learn from various veterinarians and other industry professionals who are experts in preventive medicine, nutrition, management-intensive grazing, marketing, EPDs, risk management, etc.

 

Requirements include:

- Demonstrated career interest in beef cattle production medicine

- Passing grade in a cattle diseases course or elective

- Student membership in a professional bovine veterinary organization such as AABP, AVC, WCABP/CABV/ACVB, or equivalent.

 

Interested students should email a resume or CV and a 1-page cover letter outlining their background, career interests, and plans following graduation to LaurenS@vahs.net according to the following schedule: 

 

July 13-24th, 2026 Rotation - Open to 2027 graduates

- Applications open September 1 are due by October 15th, 2025

 

July 19-30th, 2027 Rotation - Open to 2028 graduates

- Applications open September 1 and are due by October 15th, 2026
