The practice was founded in 1993 and from the beginning our goal was to work collaboratively with our beef cattle clients to provide leading edge comprehensive herd health programs.  It has always been our philosophy that if our clients were successful we would be successful.  As the needs of the cattle industry have evolved so has the practice and now in addition to the delivery of herd health programs to feedlot and cow/calf operations across Western Canada we are active in research projects with a number of academic, government and pharmaceutical industry partners.  In addition, as a member of the University of Calgary – Distributed Veterinary Teaching Hospital, we provide formal teaching rotations for students in their junior and senior years and have hosted students from a number of veterinary schools across North America.  In spite of the growth in the practice the focus of VAHS continues to be the delivery of a high level of service to our clients.
